Park Rapids Area Schools are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Century and the High School as a Paraprofessional. This full-time position involves supporting teachers and students in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will assist in the implementation of instructional programs, provide individualized support to students, and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere.

9 month position. 6.5 hrs a day, Monday through Friday  for the 2025-2026 School year.

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand and engage with the curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
- Support students with special needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Assist with classroom management and discipline in a positive and constructive manner.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Perform administrative tasks such as grading assignments and maintaining student records.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance the educational experience.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
- Familiarity with educational technology and classroom management techniques.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of special education practices and procedures is a plus.
- Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and regulations.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
