Take a Walk on the Wild Side!
 A Wild Rice Festival to be held
October 21st, 2017
 

The Nemeth Art Center will host another; "Take a Walk on the Wild Side"- Wild Rice Festival in downtown Park Rapids October 21st, 2017.
 
This year’s celebration will be held outdoors on 3rd street, just east of highway 71 next to Depot Park.  Admission is free and the event will run from 10 am to 8 pm.  
 
Take a Walk on the Wild Side will present an opportunity for attendees to connect directly with vendors of authentic wild rice, discover the unique strands of wild rice found in the rivers and lakes throughout the region and learn how local wild rice is harvested and processed.
 
New this year, arts and crafts vendors are invited to participate in the wild rice festival.  A wide variety of vendors will be represented including, artists, furniture, jewelry and hand drum makers.
 
Interested parties can learn how to apply to be a vendor at this year's wild rice festival by emailing: info@nemethartcenter.org. 

Attendees are encouraged to perform a song, poem or share a story about wild rice on an open mic stage hosted by Park Rapid's own Eddie Lee Kidd.   All open mic performers should sign up at the sound board the day of the event. 
 
Free kids activities including; painting and hula hooping will be available throughout the day and you will find an up to date schedule of Wild Rice Festival activities at www.nemethartcenter.org as the event nears.
