Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Names President/CEO
The Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism announces the selection of Butch De La Hunt to President/CEO. The position was vacated in May when former President/CEO Nicole Lalum accepted a new position at Explore Minnesota Tourism. A team comprised of members of the Chamber Board formed a search committee, conducted interviews and made the final selection.
“The Board is confident that Butch will have a positive impact for our community and continue to grow the Chamber, said Ed Becker, Vice Chair of the Chamber board. “We are pleased to find someone who has both the background in marketing as well as the practical experience as a salesperson to lead the Chamber in its initiatives.”
De La Hunt comes from De La Hunt Broadcasting, where he served as a Sales Executive for the last 13 years. Prior to that, he served a 14 year tour of duty at the Federal Communications Commission in Washington DC. De La Hunt holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Dakota and is a Park Rapids Area High School graduate.
“I’m extremely excited to get started and continue the successful path of the Chamber. The Chamber is in a very good place under the great leadership of the Board, former President Nicole Lalum and Chamber staff. Without question, Park Rapids has so many great stakeholders and I am thrilled to be joining the Chamber to promote this wonderful area and our Chamber businesses,” De La Hunt said. “I look forward to meeting members and potential members to continue to promote our area.”
