University of Minnesota Extension to host “One Vegetable, One Community” Workshop
Thief River Falls, MN: University of Minnesota Extension will host a One Vegetable, One Community (OVOC) Workshop from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, January 26th at the Evergreen Eating Emporium in Thief River Falls, MN. OVOC is a gardening campaign focusing on uniting communities around one featured vegetable.
The workshop is free and open to the public. A toolkit, community stipend opportunity, and free seeds are available at the workshop and by registering online. One Vegetable, One Community encourages gardeners of all levels to plant, grow, cook, and/or share a featured vegetable of the year. This workshop will feature community engagement discussions, examples of previous OVOC seasons, and tools to begin planning OVOC.
One Vegetable, One Community is held through University of Minnesota Extension SNAP-Ed, Northwest Regional Sustainable Development Partnership, and Institute on Environment.
Together, these organizations are partnering to encourage healthy food access and community building through One Vegetable, One Community.
