Border to Border Trail Project Listening Session Scheduled

January 19, 2017

Jan 4, 2017 –
St. Paul.  The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR) Parks and Trails Division (PAT) and the Minnesota 4-Wheel Drive Association (MN4WDA) announce a series of listening sessions across the northern counties of Minnesota.  The listening sessions are for the Border to Border (B2B) project

The B2B project is a legislatively mandated project which will connect the shores of Lake Superior to the North Dakota border traveling across the northern third of the Minnesota using minimum maintenance, rugged, or forest roadways or trails.  The project will designate a route on public roadways for highway licensed, high clearance vehicles.  The project will also identify possible connections for the designated routes into communities for services such as gas, food, lodging, camping, etc.; as well as identify locations for possible loops or trails off the main Adventure Trail, which have the potential to be created at a later date.  The funds for the project have been taken from the registrations and the non-refunded fuel from Off-Road Vehicles (ORV).

The purpose of the listening sessions is to gather feedback regarding possible locations for the routes, as well as any areas to avoid.  We encourage any interested party to attend a listening session or to provide feedback on-line if you are unable to attend a session.

There will be 8 listening sessions across the northern counties of the state which will take place between mid-January and through February.  The current list of session locations are shown below.  Updates to the session locations and times, plus general information about the project can be found at: http://nohvcc.org/Resources/nms/B2B.
