One of the best ways to monitor water quality on a lake is with a zebra mussel sampler.  If you live on the lake or have a business on the lake, contact Hubbard County Coalition of Lake Associations for a free zebra mussel sampler and log.  The samplers  hang off of your dock and need to be checked once in a while.  They were put together through a partnership with the Girl Scouts. The Park Rapids Downtown Business Association (PRDBA) received dozens of entries for the third annual 2nd Street Stage button design contest.  The winner is Amy Gohman of Andover, a graphic artist and graduate of Bemidji State University.  She and her spouse own a cabin near Park Rapids and attend 2nd Street Stage at least a couple of times every summer.  Gohman received a $250 cash more
