Line Cook
As a Line Cook at Jack Pines Cookhouse, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to order, ensuring that each dish is made with care and precision. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with your fellow kitchen staff to keep the service running smoothly while maintaining the quality and consistency our guests expect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards, focusing on flavor, portion size, and presentation.
- Set up and stock your station with the necessary supplies, ingredients, and equipment before the shift begins.
- Ensure all food items are cooked and served within a timely manner to meet guest expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout your shift, following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with prep work, including chopping vegetables, prepping meats, and other tasks as needed.
- Monitor food inventory and communicate any shortages or needs to the kitchen manager.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient service, especially during busy periods.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Assist with cleaning and closing duties at the end of each shift, ensuring the kitchen is ready for the next day.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role in a casual dining environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining food quality and consistency.
- Ability to take direction and work well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Minnesota Food Handler’s Manager Certification is preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
