Description
As part of Detroit Lakes' Polar Fest celebration and in recognition of Winter Trails Day, the NCTA’s Laurentian Lakes Chapter and Detroit Mountain will be offering a Learn to Snowshoe / Backcountry ski clinic at Detroit Mountain. We will start off talking about snowshoeing & backcountry skiing inside the yurt at 9am and then head out onto the trails using free snowshoes provided by Detroit Mountain Recreation Area and Altai Hok skis. Limited supplies on hand – first come, first served. Bring warm clothes. Event will be held in all weather conditions. No RSVP required.
You are also invited to join the Laurentian Lakes Chapter for a guided “wildlife tracking” snowshoe hike / Hok ski on the North Country National Scenic Trail that afternoon at 1pm. Meet at the Hwy 34 trailhead 9 miles east of Detroit Lakes (look for signs).
