DESCRIPTION:Historic Sawmill/Pioneer Village Tour: Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers\n\nSaturday\, July 7\, 2018 from 10 a.m. Noon\n\n\n\nTour begins at the Levorsen Building located on the Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers showgrounds.* The showground is located on the north side of Itasca State Park. Go out the North Entrance to Itasca State Park\, entrance is on the east side of the North Entrance Road (across from the church and gas station).*Tour begins promptly at 10 a.m.\n\n Get a feel for the early 1900s community of Lake Itasca at the Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers Showgrounds (LIRPF). See the Itasca Historic Sawmill. Explore various buildings including a country school\, dove-tail one-room log house and a logging museum.\n\n \n\nJunior Naturalist: Fish Habitats\n\nSaturday\, July 7\, 2018 from 2-2:45 p.m.\n\n\n\nMeet by the Itasca Fishing Pier (lakeside\, below Douglas Lodge)\n\nWhere do fish hide\, eat\, rest and lay eggs? Explore the underwater world of fish as we learn about their life in the lake!\n\n \n\n\n\nCCC Walk and Talk: The Great Depression and the CCC in Itasca\n\nSaturday\, July 7\, 2018 from 7-8 p.m.\n\n\n\nTalk held inside Forest Inn\, walk out to the Old Timer's Cabin\n\n Learn about Civilian Conservation Corps' development during the Great Depression and their role in building Itasca State Park during our talk. Then walk out to the Old Timer's Cabin to see their handiwork.
